Positive workplace policies attracting more women to Data Science space: survey


Mumbai, Oct 21 (PTI) Gender constructive workplace policies are attracting more women to the Data Science house, as a major share of women consider that there are more alternatives for them within the AI and Analytics discipline now than 5 years in the past, says a survey.

According to a survey by ed-tech firm Great Learning, whereas 54 per cent women mentioned there are more alternatives for them in AI than 5 years in the past, 27 per cent consider that equal development and pay for a similar stage of expertise and training will encourage more women.

The survey was carried out on-line amongst 2,000 women from the Data Science business throughout August.

About 24 per cent respondents believed that women might be inspired to enter this area if they’ve higher consciousness of the roles and the assist that organisations now present when it comes to work-life policies, coaching and assist.

While 17 per cent suppose that having a mentoring and assist ecosystem from faculty to universities to corporations will encourage more women to enter AI and Analytics roles and 16 per cent mentioned higher entry to analytics training and seeing more women in management roles will encourage more women to be part of the business, it identified.

When it comes to cities, Bengaluru leads by providing most alternatives to women within the data science house with 31 per cent respondents deciding on it as the town with most alternatives, the survey discovered.

Bengaluru is adopted by Delhi (NCR) and Mumbai, that are favoured by 10 per cent of respondents, whereas Hyderabad and Pune are most well-liked by 9 per cent of the respondents.

The remaining cities have single-digit preferences of 6 per cent or beneath, the survey mentioned.
