The "how and the why/the practical use"- thank you this is golden.
Programming on paper is also underrated. When you write a program on paper, you unconsciously cut out all of the "boilerplate" and what you look at on paper is just the part that solves the programming task in your mind. Then, when you go to type it into the computer, write tests, debug, … it's a lot easier.
