i have lots of AI ideas for startups
Good
10:10 really resonates with –> that you shouldn't stress about not knowing things
I did an internship once where I had to do the time on site metric but for an app by parsing the log files. It was pretty challenging as you have said where the timestamps mess up frequently and it looks like some sessions last for days (which is not true).
The way I solved it is by putting safety limits like, if the time between two consecutive actions of the same user is more than, say, 1 hour, then consider it to be a new session.
Also, there were also a lot of weird cases which had to be taken care of like, the home pang landing event was being recorded before the app open event.
And not a single mention of her vagina. Strange how that isn’t a success factor when you are a hard worker. Seriously more than half the DS I know are women and they are all good at what they do; them being a woman has no bearing on their ability. You can do whatever you want
This is one of the most genuine Data Scientist interviews I’ve seen. Thank you for sharing!
when i watch your videos, i feel more motivated and inspired 😀 . thanks a lot <3
"Data science". What a weird sequence of words to say. There's no science here. Most of it is not even scientific in any way
@8:00 yes the best data scientists I know were physics phds
Great questions, Eliza. Those answers provided so many valuable insights. I appreciate you and Katie very much for doing this.

She's adorable
Really awesome interview! The questions were good and answers very informative. Honestly one of the best data scientist videos I've seen so far.
Wisest motto I have ever heard! "Never attribute to malice what can be attributed to incompetence."
God, I love her. I want to be friends with her. She's awesome.
Great video!
Damn, she's amazing, I'd love to have her as my boss. She's asking all of the right questions (e.g. on strategy), she clearly identifies key issues (legacy tech stack and how address it), she seems very down-to-earth and she's actually willing to learn. 10/10 wish my boss was like her.
she seems like a nice person unlike most programmers.
Is that her???
Симпотмчная, умная, я повержен .
Can I get that woman's number?
She’s mad articulate
Dogs have friends. Cats have staff. 🤯
Great interview. She seems really knowledgable on data science. I feel like i saw her before on a data science panel.
Beauty with brain😂
4:00 It's a newer profession
Job Posting: 8 to 10 years of experience
Her voice is so relaxing!
4/20 date on the time-on-site metric query. Coincidence? I think not.
omg such style!! such confidence!!
i forget that Reddit is an actual like JOB THING YA KNOW
She was so articulate and made it an awesome interview! Actually got me interested in data science. They should get her to do more data science related interviews i think it would inspire up and coming data scientists.
One of the coolest data scientists ever! Good interview.
Great video! Thank you
So she is a Data Scientist at Reddit
She has seen some dark shit.i
Great interview! She’s very articulate. I would love to watch her in more interviews. In data science, particularly as a machine learning engineer, are the maths behind the algorithms and models really that essential to understand or is a high level of understanding enough and execution of the model is of importance?
She looks like she could be in a Rom Com hehe. Beauty with brains. No offence. She is smarter than me But damn shes cute!
Im lost…people were more worried about cats yet whats wrong with your dog polled the most. Maybe im missing labels?
wwooo,, this lady caries a great charisma. Great interview, thanks
Founding Data Scientist?
12:00 "Never attribute to malice what can be attributed to incompetence." 😊 Wise words indeed.
This was a nice interview. I like Katie's determination to get a data scientist job even if some employers considered her under-qualified. Perseverance (backed by skills and smart strategy) wins most of the time.
Great interview, felt like I could relate to this alot
best interview yet
AAAAAHHH KATIE IS SO COOL!!!! CONGRATS TO HER SUCCESS AT REDDIT

Who else wants shae to come back
This is really good and helpful for aspiring people. Please keep posting more!!!
