[ad_1]
If you’re still in school, the best data science project to get your first internship or job is not a machine learning personal project! Watch this video if you have no relevant experience and want to know the best data science project for getting a data science internship and/or job. In this video, I tell you the best data science project, why it’s the best, how to use it strategically for your career, and how to get it. Hope you enjoy it!

Have you guys done the best data science project yet? If not, what's your plan to incorporate it on your data science career journey? Remember, it's a journey! The best things always take a little patience ❤️
What was ur first ds project
Hey Tina! Just came across your page. I’m in a Masters program in Analytics with a Mechanical Engineering background. I’m starting my journey into becoming a Data Scientist and your page seems like it’ll be very helpful. Keep up the great work!
I work as a research assistant at an University. Frankly speaking its not adding value to job search. Is it good idea to quit and then search for a job or stay here and find one? Thanks in advance
I think that " WOOOW " is from josh starmer…😁😁😁 2:52
I'm following this strategy and I got a Research Assistant position! I'll let know in the comments if it helps me significantly in the interview process and if I see a significant increase in the rate interviews/applications 😉
Data science
Can I work under your assistance,
I sware I won't leak any fang's secret
Hey does the research have to be with a professor, could I write a research paper on my own? Will it have any value?
I agree so much with this advice and I love your videos!! However, how would we go about listing this in our resume? Any tips? Thank you 🙂
Hey. I'm majoring in statistics.
So what's my question is that, when you say analyze some data, what do you mean? How can I do that?
how about certs do you have any?
Thank you so much!!!

Great video Tina! I'm a data science major and I decided to go computational (idk if you remember but I come from the live interview with the data professor :D).
I have a question, do you have any tips on how to effectively network with data professionals?
Crisp and informative…thank you
Hi Tina , My watch later playlist is filled of data science related videos . I was in 6th Sem of my Mechanical engineering when covid hit and I started learning Python and data science . I have worked on Few projects practicing data cleaning and visualization . I have 7 month left to graduate . Please help , online courses are good but they aren't much.
Good strategy in school. But I think internship is much better than academic projects if you don't want to be a researcher.
Loved the video, thank you! <3
Awesome vid @Tina… thanks
Hey Tina, love your tips!
What do you think someone should do to break into data science field from computational linguistics background? I took some online courses and I'll try to contribute to open source projects, but I couldn't even land 'data curator' job. It seems like I'm expected to have more experience in 'data' even for an entry level data role.
Maybe it's too competitive these days to transition into data field? I'm just lost 😅
Im doing a Master's of Data Science. Thanks for the info. Will certainly consider it.
Hi Tina, research assistant is a great advice, but I’m wondering what DS skills we should have before working at a research lab? I haven’t analyzed data before, and I don’t know how/should I should learn to make me become a good research assistant in terms of analyzing data. Thank you!
Hi Tina, I'm an aspiring Data Scientist who want to break into the field. I'm really interested in your method of minimize effort and maximize outcome. Can you tell me the average hours you spend studying per day before getting a job? :/ I want to build a good studying habbit but I also want to avoid burned out. Thank youu
Hey Tina, thanks for the awesome tip! I have a question about participating in a research project. I am starting my master's degree in statistics from this fall. And a couple of weeks ago, a professor at my department asked me if I am interested in doing a research project with him. But I am not sure if I should do it b/c the topic of the project is too academic — the objective of the project is to develop network analysis-related methodology so I think that there is no opportunity to deal with actual data. Do you think that this kind of research experience would help when getting internships and full-time DS positions?
agreed !!!
Is it possible if i could PM since I am getting an MSBA rn? LMK if this possible, I had a similar background to u ( moving from a different undergrad field like u)
You are an inspiration Tina. Take a bow.
This is what happened to me this summer! I reached out to a prof to work on a DS project but he didn't have any data. He wanted me to get the data with a survey/test. It is so slow but also collecting your own data is good, too. But again, it is such a slow progress.
A few thousand rows is nothing? Oh sweet Jesus! 😭
Awesome video and interesting insights
I will be joining a University for masters in data science in spring 21 thank you so much this helps alot
Doesn't this assume that you're still in school? Getting a research position is often difficult. What other ways can we showcase our impact other than research?
