Thanks. What if a word (e.g. 'going') appeared more than 1 time in a sentence? Can the count be > 1 in the final vector?

I am planning to do sentence extraction using bag of words model. After creating the matrix how can I use the matrix to perform linear regression(or some machine learning model) on a new sentence. I want to see how much similar is any given new sentence with the corpus we have.
